In 2020, the first edition of this unique event, The Data Sharing Days was held. Co-hosted by INNOPAY, it brought together more than 100 participants from organisations worldwide who enjoyed two full days of presentations and workshops by experts and industry partners. The feedback from the delegates and speakers leaves no room for doubt: the inaugural edition of this annual event, was a resounding success.
The theme of last year’s event was ‘Data sovereignty in a world where everything is becoming a transaction’. This theme was specifically chosen to highlight the importance of data sovereignty – or ‘giving people control over their own data’ – in rebuilding the trust of businesses and consumers in how their data is handled. A lack of trust is leading to higher transaction costs due to compliancy and risk-mitigating measures. This is ultimately slowing down the progression of the transactional internet and preventing everyone from benefiting from its full potential.
